North Country on the Move!
The 2008 Guide to Recreation and Physical Activity
In St. Lawrence County

About This Guide

The St. Lawrence County Health Initiative, Inc., is a nonprofit agency with the mission of improving the health of county residents through a community effort. As a vital part of the Health Initiative, the Nutrition and Fitness Task Group is primarily concerned with nutrition and physical activity issues within the county. The idea for this resource guide has grown from that concern. The guide is intended to inform members of the community about activities and facilities available to them, and to assist those who wish to become more physically active. To this end, the guide lists resources in each town, including public agencies and schools, fitness facilities, and recreational trails.

We would like to thank the members of the Nutrition and Fitness Task Group for their assistance with the development of this guide. Their names and agency affiliations are listed below. Other contributors are identified in the Credits.

We hope that the Recreation and Physical Activity Guide will help readers transition to a more physically active lifestyle, but you have the last word. Let us know how we're doing. We urge visitors to our website to fill out a short evaluation questionnaire. Your comments will help us to improve future editions of this guide.
